This is the story of the transformation of a $2.50 Target tea-towel. I love the Target dollar spot. It lures me in every time with its strategic placement right at the front of the store. I find all kinds of great things for school, stuff to satisfy the crafty nature in me and for Naomi. A month or so ago I was perusing the bins when I spotted a pack of tea-towels embroidered with a heart smack dab in the middle. The wheels in my head began to turn as to how I could use these sweet little towels to create an addition to my sweet little daughter's wardrobe. Upon further inspection, I decided that the towel was just the right size to make her a skirt.

At first I just stitched the sides up, created a waistband and called it good. But a quick trip to JoAnn's (another weakness of mine) gave me another idea. I stumbled across some cute V-Day fabric that was on sale for $2.50 a yard. How could I resist? So I chopped the bottom off the original skirt, shortened the waist and made a ruffle for the bottom. Plus, I had more than enough material left over to make a headband.

Now, I don't even like Valentine's Day. If you know me well, you know I don't even like pink for that matter. But when it comes to stuff like this, and the sweetest baby ever... I just can't resist!
