Yikes!

It's been forever since I have posted anything. We've been super busy 'round these parts. My mom retired, we went to Tennesee, Uncle Andrew and Aunt Jess tied the knot. It's been non-stop action!

Naomi is doing great. She is such a good baby. She has been a fantastic traveller the past month. Surviving two 12 hour car trips in less than a week is no small feat for a baby. Plus we spent a lot of time driving around the mountains of TN, that was even more time in her car seat.

She was an absolute doll during the wedding. I can't sing the praises of my SleepyWrap enough. Aside from one little cry, Nomes slept through the whole wedding.

And now we're home for a while. Thank goodness! Traveling has been fun, but my baby needed to get back into her routine. Aunt Kelly is coming for the 4th and then Aunt Deborah is coming to help out with a big youth group trip. So there is still lots of love going around.

I'll try to keep this updated more often. Summer is just going too fast!

A few new pics

Just a little update on our sweet little blue-eyed baby doll. She had her six month well baby visit today and she tops out at a whopping 14.9 pounds (25%) and 26.25 inches long (60%). So from the looks of things she'll be tall and skinny like her daddy... lucky girl! She's handling the shots pretty well. She was a little whiny and clingy tonight, but that is to be expected. And there were still plenty of laughs and smiles.
At six months old Naomi can...
Put her feet in her mouth
Sit on her own for several minutes
Pull your hair so hard you think you'll be bald soon
Eat like a champ
Roll from her tummy to her back (but not from her back to her tummy)
Kick like a frog ( I think she's going to be a swimmer)
Reach for toys
Swat your hand away
Reach for mama to pick her up
Sit in a high chair at a restuarant
Give her toys a good thrashing
Find Macy anywhere in the room
Pat Macy (if Macy will let her)
Laugh and smile
Pout
Put a smile on my face at least 100 times a day
Fill my heart with more love than I ever thought imaginable

Belly laughs

You know when you're really tired and the strangest things are hilarious? Babies are no exception to the rule. This is Naomi's first real belly laugh... at a water bottle.

Strike a pose

This is the newest pillowcase dress I made for my little doodlebug.
I must admit it is my favorite one yet! Aren't those little yo-yo flowers cute?

In addition to looking cute, it must taste pretty good too.

I love having a little girl!

Because I can make her cute things like these dresses! They are so simple and next year she can wear them as a shirt! Now all we need is warmer weather :)
A cute little headband to match her dress

I love how this turned out! I made the big ladybug out of felt and buttons.

Does this look familiar? It should, this is its third appearance on my blog!

" border=0> Yes, I know it is pink, but she'll look soooo cute!

Various videos

Sorry for the weird focusing noises in this video. If you can tune them out, you'll hear a great clip of Naomi "singing" and "talking."

Oh Grandpa Rohde... I think we may have a runner on our hands! Naomi has finally caught on how to use her jumper. It totally reminds me of the running man. And best of all it gets her all tuckered out!

Sorry it has been so long since my last update. We've been busy!

Wait for it, wait for it....

Wait for it....

It's coming...

Almost there...

That's what I'm talking about!
Have you ever seen a more precious face? I love this sweet baby girl with all my heart. Smiles like this remind me how lucky I am to be her mama!

What's to come

If this is any indication of what's to come, my baby girl is going to be following in her mama's footsteps.
It looks like she's going to be quite the reader...

And a bargain hunter.

Cutie Pants

I've been having so much fun making cloth diapers. My daughter has definitely got some cutie pants! I better be careful, buying cute fabric is addicting!

Workin' for It

Unlike her mother, this girl does not laugh easily. She makes us work for it! And, as a friend of ours pointed out to us, she likes it to be big, over the top and highly animated. Now, that I can take credit for.

Here is the first of hopefully many more laughing videos to come!

Tub Time without Tears

This is a battle that has been raging for four months now. I think we have finally conquered it and Jason and I are the victors. Naomi has now had three, yes three, blessed baths where she has neither cried, nor screamed until our ears bled.

After watching this short clip one might even think she enjoyed her bath....

Cloth Covered Keister

Lately I've been trying to figure out what I would like to take on as my hobby. I've thought about photography, knitting, sewing... you get the idea. I need a creative outlet. While I haven't made up my mind yet, I've been attempting to try my hobbies in question. So my first venture was sewing. JoAnn Etc always sucks me in with their bright fabrics and cute prints. I will admit that I have diaper envy, and I've got it bad. So cloth diapers were going to be my first project. I found a free pattern online, some cute fabric and a wonderful lady who agreed to help me. Let's call her... mom :)

While these are far from perfect I had a lot of fun. There is no way I could have done these on my own. The elastic was tough! My mom was a huge help. She gets all the credit for sewing the elastic into the legs. Thanks for all your help mom!

ps. does any of the fabric look familiar? 10 points to the poster who can identify the familiar fabric and what it was used for!
